TDR Scooters
Can offer a range of services from the supply of well known brand tuning parts and engine building to specialist one off fabrications and complete scooter conversions
One of our specialities is the design and fabrication of two stroke expansion chambers for any model including custom builds where there simply is`nt an exhaust available

On this page you will find some examples of our work

A one-off expansion chamber for a customer, he fitted the Kawasaki KX500 engine to a RMZ 4 stroke moto-cross frame and found that no exhaust on the market would fit. We created this wrap around chamber to keep the tuned length correct for the relatively low revving KX engine

One of Dave Briggs Gilera runner twin engine conversions, as well as the exhausts we also designed and fabricated a pair of reed block housings and manifolds for the oversize reed valves

                                   Lambretta Auto conversion Exhaust Systems

Examples of our TDR Auto Conversion Systems where the criteria is to design a system that

works for the commonly used Malossi 172cc Cylinders but needs to look like the traditional

Lambretta exhaust. Cone dimensions and spec is similar to our TDR "Tyga" system

so it is a true performance system!

Another twin pipe construction this time on a liquid cooled engine built by Marsh

Con-air and Mental Elf were two of our Aerox 172 projects mating a tuned Gilera Runner 125cc with the Yamaha Aerox 50cc rolling chassis,a lively combination

One of the more unusual commissions we have recently undertaken is the construction of four expansion chambers for a twin engined sidecar outfit powered by two Italjet Formula 125 twin engines.

Another one -off exhaust construction, this time a Vespa Small Frame with a twist. . . it`s running a reversed cylinder from a Rotax Aprilia powervalve 125. One of the most challenging builds to date due to the dimension of the exhaust necessary for it to perform but the very limited space available.

Again something different. A modern twist on the classic Suzuki GT380 using modern running gear such as rising rate rear suspension

and upside down front forks, this as always means the original (and any aftermarket ) exhaust systems wont fit the modified chassis.

We had to construct a set of expansions that not only improved on the performance of the original system but fitted precisely and looked

good. The silencers were supplied by the customer and we would have prefered our own choice of Tyga end cans these being slimmer

and lighter than the Aprilia units supplied.

The development of an expansion chamber for a Dac-Tek Lambretta, once the parameters have been set and specifications of the
engine accertained, the cones are printed out onto card to allow a mock up of the exhaust as it develops. This is done stage by stage
and cone by cone to ensure the system fits without fouling bodywork or other parts. Each pattern is cut out of the steel and hand
rolled then tack welded. The exhaust progresses until the final design takes shape, this is test fitted before being fully TIG welded
and pressure tested. The ancilleries such as mounts etc are then fitted with the system on the scooter to ensure a perfect fit.
This is a very long drawn out and labour intensive process, not to mention expensive! but ensures  a system with no issues.

As well as the above we can also offer  MIG TIG and aluminium welding and have contacts that can offer milling and machining work, we can supply Pro-x pistons and have barrels re-lined and re-ported to customer specs
